The Middle Atlantic American Studies Association announces its 2006 Conference, to be held in Harrisburg, PA, March 31-April 1. The conference will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Political Science Association, and will be held in the State Capitol building, to commemorate the centennial of Pennsylvania’s capitol dome.
Because this will be a joint conference, interested scholars have a variety of submission options. Proposals may include individual papers, panels, forums, and workshops. The Middle Atlantic ASA conference theme is: “Politics, Power, & Culture.” Proposals addressing this theme, however broadly construed, are especially welcome. As always, the Middle Atlantic ASA welcomes proposals on any aspect of American Studies and American cultures (Contact: Dr. John Haddad, American Studies Program, Penn State Harrisburg, PA 17057, email@example.com). Additionally, the MAASA-PPSA Joint Conference theme is: “100 Years Under the Dome: The Art and Politics of Pennsylvania’s State Capitol.” For the joint portion of the conference, proposals with a Pennsylvania-specific concentration are welcome as well (Contact: Michael Cassidy, PPSA/MAASA Joint Conference Coordinator, House Democratic Caucus Chairman, 417 Main Capitol Building, Harrisburg, PA 17120-2020, firstname.lastname@example.org).
Submit a one-page description of the proposal along with a CV by DECEMBER 31, 2005 to the appropriate contact listed above.
