We are considering proposals for sessions organized around a theme, special panels, and/or individual papers on ALL ASPECTS of Midwestern culture and history. Topics may include, but are not limited to:

• Ethnic and folk cultures
• Depictions of the Midwest in popular culture
• Foodways
• History of the Midwest
• Midwestern art and artists
• Midwestern literature and writers
• Political culture
• Religious traditions
• Travel narratives

Sessions are scheduled in 1½ hour slots, typically with four papers or speakers per standard session.

Submit a one-page (150-250 word) proposal or abstract (via regular mail or e-mail) by November 1, 2005.
