The deadline is September 30, 2005.

The proposal should focus on some aspect of the following areas: Strauss's political thought, his contribution to methodological debates, his influence on Jewish and Islamic thought, his influence on contemporary US politics, especially foreign policy, and Strauss as emigre intellectual and relationship with other contemporary US and European thinkers.

Those proposals selected will be presented at a conference to be held at the University of Nottingham(UK), 27-28 March, 2006. Plenary speaker will be Professor Anne Norton, author of "Leo Strauss and the Politics of American Empire(2004).
