On August 4th at 7:00 p.m., the San Diego Historical Society will host a trio of local San Diego authors who will talk about the colorful history and development of San Diego County. Dr. Iris Engstrand, Professor of History at the University of San Diego will show a powerpoint presentation from her new book, San Diego: California’s Cornerstone. Donald Harrison, former political writer for the San Diego Union Tribune, will discuss highlights from his new book, Louis Rose: San Diego’s First Jewish Settler and Entrepreneur. Leland Fetzer, retired San Diego State Professor, and author of San Diego County Place Names A To Z, will explain in detail the origins of some of San Diego’s toughest place names. A book signing will follow.
