CALL FOR AUTHORS
The Encyclopedia of World History, Volumes 3 and 4
We are inviting academic editorial contributors to the Encyclopedia of World History, a new 7-volume major work to be published by Facts On File. In chronological order, we are now assigning Volumes 3 and 4, covering 1450 to 1750 and 1750 to 1900. Topics cover worldwide history and include biographies, event descriptions, cultural developments, and thematic essays.
Each article, ranging from 500 up to 3,500-plus words, is signed by the contributor. The General Editors for the encyclopedia are five history professors from Eastern Michigan University who will review all the articles for academic and historical accuracy.
If you are interested in contributing to the encyclopedia, it can be a notable publication addition to your CV/resume and broaden your publishing credits. There is also a small honorarium paid for each article, $20 to $100, depending on article length. For this submission, articles are due January 1, 2006.
The list of available articles is already prepared, and as a next step we will e-mail you the article list (Word file) from which you can select topics that best fit your expertise and interests. Additionally, you will receive Style Guidelines that detail article specifications and honoraria payments.
If you would like to contribute to building a truly outstanding historical reference with the Encyclopedia of World History, please contact me by the e-mail information below. Please provide a brief summary of your academic/publishing background. Thanks very much.
