The Department of Theology of Shoumen University in Bulgaria organizes on 22nd and 23rd October 2005 in Shoumen an international scientific conference titled Christianity in Egypt and Sinai. There are no restrictions as regards the chronological and thematic choice of topics from church history, dogmatics, liturgics, hagiography, history of monasticism, heresies, schisms, church art, palaeoslavistics etc. The papers of 10 to 15 pages in English, Russian or Bulgarian will be published as a miscellany and possibly in the Internet.
There is no participation fee. A free cocktail and, if the participants wish, a free bus trip can be organized to the ruins of nearby ancient Bulgarian capitals of Pliska and Preslav (9th-10th century). The participants must cover their travel and lodging expenses.
