NEASA welcomes candidates for election to the NEASA Council. The Council offers scholars an opportunity for rewarding collaboration with colleagues from across New England and from the range of disciplines in American Studies. Members meet three times yearly to plan Association programs and activities, including the annual NEASA conference. The Council strives to reflect the variety of NEASA constituencies, including community college, college, and university faculty; secondary school teachers; undergraduate and graduate students; independent scholars; and public historians, archivists, and museum curators.
All NEASA members are eligible to run for council. Terms are for two years. Interested candidates should provide the election committee with a 100-word statement detailing the qualities or expertise the candidate would bring to the Council. For more information or to submit a statement and be included on the ballot, please contact Janet Dean, jdean@bryant.edu. Candidate statements are due October 15, 2005.
