Call for PAPERS
Theme: “Driving creative management: Kickstarting small island enterprise competitiveness.”

The Department of Management Studies of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus invites submissions for possible presentation at its first Conference on Management, focusing on small island enterprise competitiveness, to be held in Bridgetown, Barbados from March 26th to 28th, 2006. All submissions will be reviewed on the basis of originality, rigour and relevance of content. Submissions can take the form of regular papers, case studies, symposia or workshops that relate to the Conference theme.
Nature and Scope of Conference
The primary interest of the Management Conference is knowledge-based social and economic change for competitiveness for small island enterprises. Driven by globalization and advances in information technology, this change has been characterized in terms of emerging information/knowledge societies and a global knowledge-based economy.
The conference will offer a comprehensive overview of current thinking in management for competitiveness for small island enterprises. Its perspectives will range from big picture analyses in keynote addresses by internationally recognized experts in the field of management, to detailed case studies of management practice. It will traverse a broad terrain, from theory and analysis to practical strategies for action.
The conference hopes to promote contributions to the broad theme from any discipline(s) and/or functional area(s) of management including, among others: accounting and finance, human resource management, marketing, project management, international business and tourism. Particular perspectives on the conference theme may include the following:

Final Paper Submission……………………December 15, 2005
Confirmation of final acceptance…………….January 15, 2006
We will be providing an entirely electronic submission and review process. Please submit your paper as an e-mail attachment using Microsoft Word. Submissions should not exceed 25 double-spaced pages (including tables, charts and references), 1” margins (top, bottom, left, and right), in 12-point font.
Submissions should not have been published, presented previously, scheduled for presentation, or be under concurrent consideration for another Conference.
Submissions will be blind reviewed and accepted papers will be published in the refereed proceedings on a CD-Rom format. Accepted papers should be prepared using Harvard Referencing format.
