Call for Papers: Deadline 1 July 2005
AN ARMY AT WAR: CHANGE IN THE MIDST OF CONFLICT
Organizers: The United States Army Combat Studies Institute, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and the US Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Virginia.
The Combat Studies Institute will host a conference entitled “An Army At War: Change In The Midst Of Conflict,” This symposium is designed to study/ present/ discuss historical perspectives of Army change in organization, education, training and doctrine, placed in the context of current and future operations and current and projected Army reorganization initiatives. The conference will be held at the Frontier Conference Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, 2-4 August 2005, and will include a mixture of guest speakers, panel sessions, and general discussions.
While focusing on historical perspectives of Army change in organization, education, training and doctrine, placed in the context of current and future operations and current and projected Army reorganization initiatives, attention will also be stressed on the examination of how the Army coped with change necessitated by or otherwise executed concurrent with the fighting of a war.
With this in mind, CSI is issuing a call for papers for the conference. It is planned to publish the proceedings of the conference in an edited volume within three months after the adjournment of the conference.
