The University of Oxford ‘Fin de Siècle’ seminar
invites proposals for 45- to 50-minute papers
on any aspect of literature, society and the arts
in Britain during the period between 1870 and 1920.
Proposals for papers with an international dimension
will be considered.
Now in its sixth year, the seminar is a lively forum
in which graduates and established academics discuss
fresh perspectives on turn-of-the-century culture.
It attracts attention from a broad community of researchers
both within and outside Oxford, who value its rigorous scholarly discussion.
Seminars will take place throughout the 2005/06
academic year. Proposals (max. 200 words) must be
received by Monday 4 July 2005. Further inquiries welcome.
