The General Theme:
The Latin American Struggle for Justice: Yesterday and Today
(La Lucha Latinoamericana por La Justicia: Ayer y Hoy)
Paper abstracts, not to exceed one full page, should be submitted that relate to any aspect of the Hispanic, Latino, or Latin American experience in the struggle for justice in the past or in the present. Topics may include, but are not limited to history, politics, economics, sociology, demographics, immigration, health, education, welfare, housing, prison systems, philosophy, religion, literature and the arts. Indicate the time desired (20 or 30 minutes) for each presentation. Proposals for full panels of two to four presenters with chairpersons and commentators are especially appreciated for each hour and a half session.
Proposals to lead open forums, chat rooms for discussion groups, teaching workshops, film screening, job marts/fairs, booths for graduate schools and study abroad programs are also welcome.
Deadline for submissions: Postmarked or emailed by Friday, September 16, 2005. We would greatly appreciate your response as early as possible for adequate planning. Please include your email and full home and institution address.
