Melbourne Historical Journal (MHJ) is a refereed journal for the publication of postgraduate work in history, and gives priority to the publication of the work of postgraduate students from Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. It does not discriminate against fields and types of history, is open to new approaches, and aims to present original work to a wide and responsive readership.
Journal articles should be between 5000-7000 words and constitute an original piece of research. Manuscripts should not be under review or scheduled for publication by any other journal, and should be substantially different from other published work. The collective asks that all applications conform to the MHJ style guide, which can be found on the MHJ website.
Articles and queries may be submitted to MHJ either via email or by post.
