We actually posted this earlier, asking for panellists for the regional (ISA-Northeast) conference. We got some great responses so are trying again. This one is for the annual ISA conference next year, where the audience and participants are more numerous and from different parts of the USA and overseas. We are still looking for more people who can make it to San Diego, CA next year (though the deadline for submission of panels is 1 June, 2005. Hence, the call for papers now). If you are interested, please email either of us.
Terror and Typhoid: Security and Disease in the International Sphere
Are security and disease related issues? Should they be? What links them, how are they linked, and what does that mean for the study of international relations? We are seeking papers on either the places where disease and terror are brought together, or analyses of the way that the discussion of the two comes together in the discipline.
We hope to assemble a panel on disease and security for the upcoming ISA Annual Conference in San Diego, CA, March 21-25, 2006. Abstracts and proposals are due on June 1, 2005. So if you are interested (or know someone who is) please contact Elizabeth Breier-Sharlow or Priya Dixit (e-mail addresses provided below) with details about your proposed paper and contact information.
