The event is a public stage performance of the award winning Poet Laureate's play entitled "THE TRIALS OF AN EMPIRE"(a contemporary classic)across six major Nigerian cities between September 21- October 1st 2005 as part of activities to mark Nigeria's 45th Independence Day anniversary. The selected cities are BENIN CITY, LAGOS, PORTHARCOURT, ENUGU, ASABA and ABUJA Federal Capital city. Sponsorship is still being sorted for this historic event among the major Communications companies (GSM Operators. The quintessential play is centred around the Nigerian Questions of Resource control, National identitity, Unity, and the desperate quest for peace and cooperation among warring communities and the Government.
