The Graduate Program in Cinema Studies at San Francisco State University wishes to announce a call for papers. Shades of Sexuality will be a graduate conference focusing on the evolving depiction of sexuality in film and digital media. This conference has a two-fold aim: to examine the history of sexuality’s manifestation on film and to appraise the current relation between sex and its simulation, interpretation and evaluation within today’s media landscape. With media-depicted sexuality taking more explicit forms than ever before, the need for extensive discourse on the converging paths of sexuality and visual media has willed this conference into existence. The conference is restricted to graduate students or those who are pursuing graduate studies and will take place at SF State on September 30 and October 1, 2005. Submit a proposal online at the web address provided below.
