The Society for Women and the Civil War is proud to announce, in partnership with the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies, The 7th Annual Conference for Women and the Civil War, to be held June 3-5, 2005 at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia.
The conference will include workshops, optional cemetery and archive tours, and several notable speakers, including William Davis. The welcome reception will include opening remarks by James Robertson Jr.
The Society is a non-profit organization with an international membership.Their mission is to provide scholarship and awareness on women's roles during the American Civil War, 1861-1865. The diverse body of members includes academics, independent scholars, park service employees, reenactors, museum curators and interpreters, librarians, archivists, genealogists, and students.
