The Potomac Corral of Westerners International presents the Jeff C. Dykes Memorial Award for outstanding contributions to the history of the American West to Professor Peter Iverson on May 25, 2005 at a luncheon to be held at the Cosmos Club, Washington, D.C. Dr. Iverson, Regent's Professor of History at Arizona State University and President of the Western History Association, will present a lecture entitled "About Schmitt: Stories About My Grandfather, the Navajos, and Me." The presentation focuses on the people and events that influenced the development of Iverson's interest in Navajo history and culture and provided a pathway for his life and career. The program is open to those who make dining reservations. The luncheon is $28 and reservations must be made no later than Tuesday, May 17, 2005 by 9:00 PM. The Cosmos Club has a dress code.
