For those unfamiliar with ISA, it is like the American Political Science Association but with an international focus. The conventions attract primarily academics--thousands of them--but the Intelligence Studies and International Security Studies Sections also attract former practitioners, current goverment officials (CIA, DIA, State, etc), military students and professors (Joint Military Intelligence College, Naval Postgraduate School, Army and Naval War Colleges, all the service academies, US Army Command and General Staff College, etc) and think tank/contractor folks (RAND, CNA, SAIC) to present papers on the panels.

If you have ideas for articles and an interest in meeting others who write and publish on intelligence or security issues, this is probably the best academic forum for getting the ideas out there.
