Bird and Sherwin will present their book, followed by comments by Robert Stan Norris, senior analyst at the Natural Resources and Defense Council and author of "Racing for the bomb: General Leslie R. Groves, the Manhattan Project's indispensable man" (2002). Wilson Center Public Policy Scholar Jim Hershberg (GWU) , author of "James B. Conant: Harvard to Hiroshima and the making of the nuclear age" (1995), will chair the meeting.
