The Teaching Popular Culture Area of the Midwest PCA/ACA is seeking papers and proposals devoted to all aspects of teaching popular culture including methods, pedagogies, and strategies, course development and curricula as well as teaching philosophies, narratives, assessment, service learning, engagement, and “good practices.” Papers and proposals targeting diverse educational levels—e.g., K-12 (public, private, charter, parochial), community college, college and university--are welcome.
Submit one-page descriptions with title and 150-word (or less) abstract (by post, FAX, or e-mail) to the Area Chair, Angela Nelson. If papers and/or proposals are sent as e-mail attachments, then they should be in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat pdf format. A reply by e-mail will be sent within one week and confirmation will be sent around May 31, 2005. All proposals should include contact information as well as DVD player requests (we cannot supply audio equipment, slide projectors, computers, or overhead projectors).
