The Professional Development Area of the Midwest PCA/ACA is seeking presenters who can facilitate or co-facilitate sessions and/or workshops devoted to all aspects of academic professional development. Topics can include job searches, job interviews, CV development, writing grants, the job application process (job announcement, cover letter, CV, letters of reference, supporting materials, etc.), presenting at conferences, writing research papers, writing for publication, professional ethical behavior, and etc. Subjects or topics targeting graduate students as well as tenured, tenure-track, and part-time college and university faculty members are welcome.
Submit a 1-2 page description including the (a) topic to be highlighted, (b) a 150-word (or less) abstract of what participants will gain from this information, and (c) a brief summary of your qualifications (by post, FAX, or e-mail) to the Area Chair, Angela M. Nelson. The Area Chair in consultation with those who have submitted descriptions will coordinate the specific format of the session. All proposals should include contact information as well as DVD player requests (we cannot supply audio equipment, slide projectors, computers, or overhead projectors).
