9th North American Fur Trade Conference, lastest in series begun in 1965, will meet jointly with 12th Rupert's Land Studies Colloquium in St. Louis, Missouri, 24-28 May 2006.
Theme: "The Fur Trade Before and After Lewis & Clark." Scholars from any relevant discipline who study the fur trade of any era or area, as well as members of the General Public, are invited to submit Paper Proposals by 15 October 2005. The distinguished mother-daughter historians, Rhoda and Carolyn Gilman, will give keynote banquet address. This conference is multicultural, multidisciplinary, and international in scope and will feature up to 120 Papers plus receptions, exhibits, and fieldtrips related to Fur Trade History.
