Nordic Center in India, and Nordic Institute of Asian Studies arranges a Summer School in Tamil Nadu, with the title "the World of he South Indians". Main teacher will be anthropologist Lars Kjaerholm, J.Rajasekaran, Madurai Center for Social and Cultural Research, and there will be about 20 additional Indian teachers, experts in various fields, such as vastu shastra, silpa shastra, classical Indian music and dance, ayurvedic medicine, Indian film, social and cultural movements in Tamil Nadu.
The summer school will start in Mahabalipuram on the beach south of Madras, spend one week there, then move along the Coromandel coast to Tanjore, then Madurai, and end in the coutryside in a rustic location, where you can breathe fresh country air and experience Tamil village life.
University affilition can be arranged, so you can get academic credit.
Cost: from US$ 950 to 7165, depending on type of room. This covers lodging, full board, transport and teaching, everything in India, except air transport to India, which is arranged by each participant.
