The University Centre Yeovil is honoured to announce the first UK visit of Alf Taylor, Stolen Generation, Nyoongar, Aboriginal Poet and Storyteller.
‘Representation, Reconciliation and Writing’ offers the opportunity to discuss:
- Any issues germane to contemporary and historical studies of Australian post-colonial and indigenous peoples’ life issues are welcomed from any disciplinary approach: for example, literary, legal, social, historical, filmic, political, educational, cultural, etc.
The attendance of an aboriginal writer invites attention to issues of traditional indigenous forms of communal and self representation, alongside the impact of culture contact and assimilationist policies.
- Orality, performance, modern media, cyber and visual forms of representation are invited as subjects of equal attention.
