In view of its 150th anniversary, the chair for the history of technology of ETH Zurich presents the online-exhibition "ETHistory 1855-2005" (web address provided below).
Five guided tours to politics, business, education, research and administration put ETH history in perspective. This virtual sightseeing is complemented by video interviews, in which key players recall controversial issues of the recent past. In addition, the web site contains a forum for the living memory of members of departments, administration and boards, and it offers a large amount of electronic documents, fact sheets, statistical reports and biographical data.
"ETHistory 1855-2005" is the result of a major research project conducted at the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich. Over the past three years, twelve scientists under the coordination of Prof. David Gugerli have investigated the social, political, and scientific dimensions of the ETH.
