The Interdisciplinary Scholars Initiative at The University of Kansas invites you to submit proposals for their inaugural conference, “The Local and the Global: Research, Teaching, Service, and Activism,” to be held September 9-11, 2005, in Lawrence, Kansas. The conference will provide opportunities for intellectuals and researchers of all stripes to gather and discuss the connections between their work and the social world. The programming committee encourages you to propose panels, workshops, individual papers, exhibits, roundtables, and performances on any topic relating to this theme. The conference, to be held at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas from September 9-11, 2005, is especially friendly to graduate students and other young scholars and activists.
