SAFE supports China's Request for Import Restrictions on Illicitly Traded Antiquities
The looting and plundering of priceless cultural treasures continues all over the world. The devastation of China's cultural heritage caused by the illicit antiquities trade is perhaps among the most severe. In response, China has requested a bilateral agreement with the US to restrict the importation of Chinese antiquities.

Saving Antiquities for Everyone (www.savingantiquities.org) is a nonprofit group dedicated to raising public awareness through educational programs and media campaigns that stimulate public consciousness regarding the importance of preserving cultural heritage worldwide. We focus on the destruction of archaeological sites, historical sites and the channeling of cultural artifacts through the illicit antiquities trade. Founded in response to the ransacking of the National Museum of Iraq in Baghdad, our effort is now global. SAFE has no political affiliations.
Please circulate this as far and wide as possible. Don't just limit this to colleagues and friends in the US, send this to EVERYONE. This is not just China's problem; it is everyone's problem.
