The French Department of Georgetown University presents a two-day celebration in honor of Jacques Derrida, starting at 5.30pm March 31, ending at 9pm April 1, in McShain Lounge, McCarthy Hall, Main Campus. Events to include a keynote address in English by writer and Derrida friend Helene Cixous, a showing of the Safaa Fathy film Derrida's Elsewhere ( English sub-titles ),live readings in French from Derrida's works by premier French actor Daniel Mesguich, and lectures in English by Derrida translator Peggy Kamuf ( USC ) and Derrida collaborator Geoffrey Bennington ( Emory University ).
