George Reid Andrew, Professor of History at the University of Pittsburgh will give the Leslie B. Rout Memorial Talk entitled "Afro-Brazil and Afro-Spanish America: Toward a Comparative History" at 5:30 on Thursday Mar. 17. 2005 in the Student Union Gold Room A. This is a talk that should have broad appeal to CLACS faculty and students. The talk honors Les Rout a renowned jazz musician and an MSU History Department Professor who published many important works on the history of Brazil and Spanish America. Come enjoy Professor's Andrew's talk and celebrate Les Rout's life and contributions. The talk is open to the public and forms part of a series of events know as Brazil Week at MSU.
