The Champlain-St. Lawrence Seminar in Early American Studies will convene at Valcour, NY on Monday, March 14 from 3-5 pm.
Kevin Sweeney (Amherst College) will present a precirculated paper entitled "Guns Along the River: Possession and Use of Firearms in the Connecticut Valley from 1600-1800." Please contact Catherine Desbarats or James Rice to obtain a copy of the paper or directions to the Valcour Center.
The Champlain-St. Lawrence seminar is a joint venture between McGill University and SUNY Plattsburgh. We attempt to balance presentations by established scholars with work by promising junior historians, to recruit presenters and participants from both sides of the U.S.-Canadian border, and to encourage participation by historically-minded scholars from any discipline.
