Jay Leyda 1910-1989 was a seminal figure in film history (Soviet, Chinese, and U.S.) and preservation (MOMA film deptartment), and professor in NYU's Cinema Studies Dept.
The conference program will include a panel of historians, discussing various aspects of his life/work, a panel of his former students, now themselves leading film historians, a panel on film preservation, and a showing of Leyda's film "A Bronx Morning" [1931].
