The Barnes County Historical Society in Valley City, North Dakota, has been awarded a paid Partners Internship Program grant through HECUA for Summer 2005. This is a full-time 400 hour position that pays $8.75/hour. It is for the creation of an exhibit on the Ethnicity of Barnes County and the Sheyenne River Valley Area. It is only open to undergrad students that are returning for the 2005 Fall Semester and enrolled at any university or college in ND, MN or WI.
Qualifications: Excellent communication skills and experience conducing oral history interviews preferred. Competent research skills. Clear and consistent writing skills. Some artistic abilities to create informative and enjoyable exhibit. Good organization skills. Public relations/personal skills and the ability to work well with elderly people. Knowledge of computers with Windows 2000, Adobe, and Word. Public speaking experience preferred.
