I am attempting to put together a panel for next year’s conference on “Warfare and Society in Colonial North America and the Caribbean”, October 6–8, 2006, Knoxville, Tennessee, sponsored by the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture and the University of Tennessee Center for the Study of War and Society.
The theme of this panel is, broadly speaking, how the colonies waged war within the context of larger struggles of empire. While my paper will concentrate on North Carolina and the Seven Years’ War, ideas for papers looking at other colonies or regions in other conflicts are certainly welcome.
If you or someone you know is working in this field or has a paper that is appropriate to the panel, please contact me at the following e-mail address.
