Submissions are invited for the regular session of the Gender and Race in Twentieth-Century Literature panel, at the South Central Modern Language Association (SCMLA) conference, Houston, Texas, October 27-29, 2005.
SCMLA/2005 Conference Theme: “Literary Space(s)”
Session Topic: Open -- Special consideration will be given to proposals for papers that address any of the following: race and gender performativity; performative geographies of place, culture and history; urban literary spaces; and poetics of literary landscapes. However, proposals related to gender and race in 20th century literature and any aspect of the conference theme will be considered.
Please submit a 300-500 word abstract by March 15, 2005. E-mail submissions are preferred, but .doc or .rtf e-mail attachments are okay.
