Dear friends,
We are calling for 1 to 2 paper proposals to complete a session we are preparing for the VIII Turku Methodological Conference & VI Nordic Environmental history Conference: ‘Thinking through the Environment’, to be held in Turku (Finland) on Sept. 15-17, 2005 (www.tte2005.utu.fi). The conference aims to encourage interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary study of environmental history. The theme of our session is: ‘Nature and social conflicts: stories and methodologies’; the scope is to look at the dialogue among historians and social scientists, focusing on the environmental conflict. Related issues are ecological distribution conflicts and environmental justice. Paper proposals from anthropologists, politologists or other social scientists are particularly favoured. Proposals should contain: a paper abstract of less than 300 words, and a short cv of less than 600 words, including current postal and e-mail addresses. Please send your proposal to Marco Armiero (marco.armiero@tin.it) or Stefania Barca (e-mail address follows) by Febr. 13, 2005.
