Submissions are invited for the regular session of the Gender and Race in Twentieth-Century Literature panel, at the South Central Modern Language Association (SCMLA) conference, Houston, Texas, October 27-29, 2005.

SCMLA/2005 Conference Theme: “Literary Space(s)”
Session Topic: Proposals related to conference theme and any of the following are welcome: race & gender performativity; performative geographies of place, culture and history; urban literary spaces; poetics of literary landscapes.

Please submit a 300-500 word abstract by March 15, 2005. E-mail submissions are preferred, but .doc or .rtf e-mail attachments are okay.
