We would like to remind you that submission deadline for abstracts (with a short CV) is February 20-th. Submission deadline for papers is April 15th 2005. In case you would like to get some extra time for preparation of your abstract or paper you should contact the Organizing Committee. All proposals should be sent to the Organizing Committee by e-mail.
The following major panels and “round tables” of the conference had been suggested:

- Institutionalizing the Pan-African project: the African Union, Pan-African Parliament, African Economic Community, and NEPAD.
- International aspects of African Security
- National and global security in gender dimension
- Global challenges, civilizational risks and contemporary problems of Africa
- Interstate and intrastate conflicts. Ethnic and religious factors
- African writers and publicists on African security: the end of the XX – beginning of the XXI century
- African security in historical retrospective
- Economic security issues
- North Africa and the Near East: democratisation, authoritarianism and security issues
- Contemporary situation and challenging problems of African linguistics and literature
- Internal Security in Africa:
- Southern Africa: security issues
Round tables:
- Africa and G8
- Role of UN in keeping stability in Africa
- Russian-African cooperation in a contemporary system of international relations
- Societies in transition: the role of shadow economy
- Building Africa's security through science and technology
- Ecological crisis and problems of survival
The conference working languages are Russian and English.
The Conference participant’s registration fee, equivalent of $150 in Roubles is to be paid upon arrival. The fee for an accompanying person is equivalent of $50 in Roubles.
