SHAD is the successor to the Social History of Alcohol Review. It is sponsored by the Alcohol and Drugs History Society. ADHS is the successor to the Alcohol and Temperance History Group. Ian R. Tyrrell (University of New South Wales) is ADHS president. ADHS is an American Historical Association affiliate.
