"Gender and Feminism under Post-Communism" conference
At IU On March 31 - April 3, 2005.
The conference will focus on the development of feminism and the impact of feminist theories on the reshaping of gender roles in public policies, representations,and social and cultural practices in places from Germany to China.
The conference will bring to campus ten prominent scholars from around the world, who will speak on four panels: "Economic and Social Justice Issues," "Representations," "History and Myth," and "Public and Private Spheres." To enable a lively roundtable format, the papers will be available electronically two weeks prior to the event at the following web address. Faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students, as well as the public at large are encouraged to attend.
