The Center for the Study of War and Society will host the conference, "THE ATOMIC BOMB AND AMERICAN SOCIETY" in Oak Ridge, Tennessee July 15-17, 2005. The conference will mark the 60th anniversary of the detonation of the first atomic bomb. Panels will examine the political, economic, social, and cultural impact of nuclear weapons on American society. Dr. Paul S. Boyer of the University of Wisconsin will deliver the keynote address on Friday, July 15 and David Rosenberg of the U.S. Naval War College will deliver the keynote address on Saturday, July 16.
