Faculty are invited to apply for a four-week National Endowment for the Humanities Seminar on Early American Microhistories that will be led by Professor Richard D. Brown, and will meet Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, June 6-June 30, 2005.
The seminar invites participation by 15 humanists in several fields. It seeks to enlarge and enrich their understanding and use of microhistory in research and teaching. Richard Brown and the visiting faculty will lead the seminar in considering how to select and conceptualize a subject, the choice of appropriate research techniques, and the creation of a narrative strategy.
The stipend for participants is $3,000 and is intended to cover costs of travel, food, and lodging.
