Dr. Maurice O'Sullivan, Award winning author and chair of the English Department at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, will give a general overview of Florida's rich literary history. He is author and editor of many books including "Florida Poetry", "Orange Pulp", and "The Florida Reader", edited with Jack Lane, which won the Florida Historical Society's Charlton Tebeau Award in 1992.
Dr. O'Sullivan and Professor Jack Lane of the Rollins History Department have been recognized for initiating the Florida Studies movement with their book "The Florida Reader" and teachers' workshops for the Florida Endowment for the Humanities.
The lecture is at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 27, 2005 in the Hollis Room at Florida Southern College, 111 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, Florida.
