Calling Filmmakers, Videographers, Artists & Performers for submissions to:
THE 12th ANNUAL WOMEN OF COLOR FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL
Disrupting Borders:
Seeing Silences and Imagining Trans-formations
April 23-24, 2005
University of California, Santa Cruz
In the 12th Annual Women of Color Film Festival we, the organizers, recognize the urgency to imagine the transnational as a disruption of the border –borders of identity, disciplines, gender, regulation, time, criminality, sexuality, space, surveillance and nationality.
Since 1991, the Women of Color in Collaboration and Conflict Research Cluster has screened close to 300 films by women of color as well as hosted workshops and panel discussions with both established and up and coming filmmakers. Past festival participants have included Julie Dash, Cheryl Dunye, Lourdes Portillo and Trinh T. Minh-ha.
We are very excited about this year’s event and look forward to creating a space where artists network and provoke through artistic practice and production.
