In this 230th Anniversary year of the American Revolution, an exciting new website - www.sullivanclinton.com - raises fresh awareness of the Sullivan-Clinton Campaign of 1779, which George Washington ordered against the Iroquois Six Nations. It was the largest expedition to that date launched against native North Americans and a watershed event in New York, American and Native American history.
The website takes a multimedia approach to this compelling history. It contains period texts, animated and still photo galleries of the Iroquois capitals and Battle sites today, and multimedia content by award-winning artists. Still evolving, the site is fully searchable, with ample places for visitors to comment. It features a unique 11-scene animated MapSet of this major event in context of the Empire State & America's Westward Expansion. Educators, students, librarians and history buffs can view it at www.sullivanclinton.com/mapset/shell.swf or order it from the Products page.
