The next issue of the journal ‘Civilisations’, published by the Department of Languages and Civilisations, Université des Sciences Sociales de Toulouse, will be dedicated to the relationship between the economy and culture. In line with the journal’s interdisciplinary emphasis, the Editorial Committee is seeking contributions from the disciplines of history, economics, law, sociology, and from the larger field of human social sciences.
Articles relating to the following themes are particularly encouraged:
- The consumption of cultural goods
- Work and culture
- Cultural performance
- The culture industry (books, music, cinema)
- Management of cultural agencies
- The role of the media (press, radio tv)
- Financing culture
- Cultural strategies and political influences
- The role of culture in local development strategies
The focus may relate to France or indeed any other country. Civilisations is aimed at an international readership and consequently accepts manuscripts in languages other than French.
