The CEE Summer School is organized by the Institute of European Studies at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland.
This year the summer program will focus on the early XX century history of nation-building processes in Central & Eastern Europe as well as the modern history, culminating with the non-violent revolutions in the region, which made the road open for the transformation of communist regimes in most of the countries of the CEE. The second part of the program will be consecrated to issues such as identity, national as well as common (central) European one, and also we will dedicate a considerable amount of time to culture and art of contemporary CEE.
To make the understanding of the class work easier the CEE Summer School takes you also outside of the scientific world. There will be an opportunity, for instance, to get to know the history of Kraków while on the tour with one of our lecturers, or to have a talk with our expert on the Holocaust, combined with a visit to Aushwitz, and more…
The language of instruction is English.
