The panel will focus on interdisciplinary approaches to historical scholarship focusing on the connections between visual culture (material culture, paintings, prints, ads, film, etc.), race, and nation from the late 19th to the early 20th century. In light of the conference theme "Our America/Nuestra America," comparative approaches are more than welcome. Advanced Ph.D. students, junior faculty, and independent researchers from history as well as other academic fields are strongly encouraged to submit proposals.
The deadline for the submission to OAH is January 15, 2004. In order to pull this panel together, please submit your proposals and resumes and/or statement of interest to chair the panel by latest January 5, 2005.
