I am interested in putting together a panel for 2006 OAH Conference, responding to the call for papers addressing the theme "Women and Work."

My paper looks at the changes in American household decision making about married women's work between 1890 and 1940, using family budget study and census data to analyze these decisions. It compares the range of household economic circumstances and decisions with the family wage ideal. Proposals addressing the same or surrounding time periods are welcome.

The OAH asks for a prospectus of 250 words for each paper, and CV of not more than 500 words for each participant. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 15, 2005. I would like to be ready to submit the panel proposal by January 5, 2005.
