History Compass, a major new electronic journal recently launched by Blackwell Publishing in association with the Institute of Historical Research (London), is looking for original essays that explore the intersections between Australian, New Zealand and Pacific History.
Essays should review new developments in the historiography, offer fresh interpretations of important topics, or evaluate useful sources and documents for teaching. They should be written for scholars and teachers who are not necessarily specialists in the field.
Essays may be of varying lengths (1000-1500, 5000, or 8000 words). The longer essays are fully peer reviewed. Examples of the types of articles published by History Compass can be found on the website (web address shown below), where access can be gained by following the 30 day Free Trial link.
Please address preliminary suggestions and proposals to Stuart Ward (contact information provided below), including an indication of the length of essay you wish to write. Subsequently those wishing to write longer essays will be asked to submit a one-page abstract.
