Africanists with a Ph.D. (and advanced graduate students) are invited to contribute to the Sub-Saharan Africa volume of this project, a six-volume work that will provide a valuable and unprecedented tool for the study of popular culture. The editor of this volume is now seeking authors for the following chapters:
- Architecture
- Art
- Dance,
- Love, Sex, and Marriage
- Fashion and Appearance
- Film
- Food and Foodways
- Games, Hobbies and Toys
- Literature
- Music
- Periodicals
- Sports
- Theater and Performance
- Transportation and Travel
Each narrative chapter will be 12,000-13,000 words in length. The project deadline is December 1, 2005. A substantial honorarium will be paid to each contributor (in accordance with the term and conditions set by Greenwood Press). Interested scholars should apply by January 1 2005.
